HowToStudy.ie is an introduction platform. Complete the contact form and we'll come back to you with a referral to the independent coach we think would suit your child best. You then contract directly with that coach for sessions.

We Refer a Coach
We review your enquiry and come back to you with a referral to the independent coach we think would suit your child best, qualified teacher or recent top-scoring graduate, in person or online.
Contract Directly
You arrange sessions and pay the coach directly. Coaches set their own rates. HowToStudy.ie introduces, nothing more.

Inside a Coaching Block
We recommend a five lesson structure, but you can decide yourselves how many sessions you want. You will get feedback after each session from your coach. Each session is one hour, one-to-one.
Learn
Your child meets their coach and learns their first study technique. They apply it immediately using real past papers, not homework. They leave with something they can use tonight.
Build
Two practical tasks that develop the technique further. Repetition builds the habit. The coach identifies what's clicking and what needs adjustment.
Strengthen
Two more tasks, building confidence and speed. By now the student is using the method independently with the coach guiding from the side.
Consolidate
The student proves they can study independently using the method. The coach sets them up for the weeks ahead. A short parent debrief follows to share progress and next steps.
The Parent Debrief
After each session, your child's coach will share brief feedback with you. At the end of a coaching block they'll also have a longer conversation explaining what was covered, how your child responded, what progress was made, and what they recommend going forward. No jargon, no upselling, just a clear, honest picture of where your child stands.
What Coaches Use
Sessions use real Leaving Certificate past papers and teacher prepared notes, not your child's own homework or textbooks. This keeps the focus on how to study rather than getting stuck on specific content.
